Two unique mixed-use projects planned in downtown Miami were approved by Miami’s Urban Design Review Board last week, reports The Next Miami, with The Sterling condo-hotel and a hotel near the Resorts World Miami site both receiving a thumbs up.

The Sterling is a 73-story tower proposed by Turkey-based Okan Group at the corner of North Miami Avenue and 6th Street. Designed by Behar Font & Partners, plans for the 956-foot tulip-inspired tower include 362 residences, 300 hotel rooms, over 55,000 square feet of office space, and a little over 3,000 square feet of retail. There also will be a restaurant open to the public on the 68th floor.

The next development to receive the green light was a 43-story hotel featuring a greenish-blue facade. It includes 270 hotel rooms, nearly 15,000 square feet of office space, and over 700 square feet of retail. The project was designed by architect Allan Shulman and Mandala Holdings is the developer.
