This is the first look at plans for a new 40-story Courtyard by Marriott hotel in downtown Miami.
Mandala Holdings purchased a small lot across from Resorts World Miami for $8 million in 2016. The lot size is just 11,700 square feet.
Miami architect Allan Shulman has prepared plans for a 270-room hotel, according to preliminary documents obtained by TNM. Shulman’s design calls for a tall narrow tower topping of at 580-feet, with exterior cladding made of a curtain wall system with colored glass.
A bar will be located on top of the tower at level 40. The project will also include a token amount of office and retail space, but no parking.
Completion is scheduled for 2020.
