The owners of the El Eden Motel are working on approval of a new project on the site.
Records show that Akerman attorneys have registered as lobbyists for the project in June and July, with the goal of obtaining zoning and approvals necessary to build.
Tony Cho and Robert Finvarb purchased the property earlier this year for $18.4 million.
They have said that the project will include a 24-story “millenial drivern” hotel with 263 keys, designed by Arquitectonica.
Other elements that were being considered included retail, grocery, office, or residential.
