With 2018 upon us, we recently took a look at the TOPHOTELCONSTRUCTION database to identify some of the most exciting projects that are slated to open in the coming months. Here’s what we found:

Park MGM Las Vegas
Park MGM Las VegasThis project is just going to squeak into 2018, with a projected completion date set for the fourth quarter of 2018. Once finished, the Park MGM Las Vegas will feature 2,700 rooms.

Park MGM is a new joint concept between MGM and Sydell, conceived to target a younger, well-traveled demographic that seeks unique experiences and innovative design. Park MGM is designed to appeal to this growing and increasingly significant audience’s desire to be more social, connected and culturally aware. The design of Park MGM, a luxury resort, will build upon the property’s history, incorporating its European design influences while retaining a powerful connection to The Park just next door.

Marriott Marquis Miami World Center
Marriott Marquis Miami World CenterWhile the first project was located in the desert oasis of Las Vegas, Nevada, the next is located in an entirely different corner of the United States — the glamorous and sunny beach city of Miami, Florida. Dubbed the Marriott Marquis Miami World Center, this under construction hotel will have 1,700 rooms for guests once it is completed in the third quarter of 2018, and it will rank as the largest hotel in South Florida.

This property will also be split into two towers, and it will be located within Miami Worldcenter’s shopping mall, which will include a Bloomingdale and a Macy’s department stores. There will also be an exhibition space with a 100,000 square-foot exhibit hall, a 65,000 square-foot main ballroom, a 45,000 square-foot junior ballroom, a 10,000 square-foot lecture hall with 1,500 seats, and a 390,000 square-foot meeting space area.

Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center
Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention CenterOur third and final entry on our list is located in the rapidly growing city of Denver, Colorado. This one is the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center, which like the first entry on our list is due to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2018. Once it is finished, this property will boast a total of 1,504 rooms for guests.

High Point is an 1,800-acre, mixed-use, master-planned community conveniently located 15 miles from downtown Denver and minutes away from the Denver International Airport. In addition to current and future development of up to 10 million square feet of business park development, 500,000 square feet of retail development, 1,600 single-family homes and 1,400 multi-family units, High Point is also the home to High Point Academy, a public K-8 charter school started in 2006 to serve residents of High Point with an award-winning educational option within the community.

The proposed resort by Gaylord Entertainment is expected to be open for business and initially feature 1,500 guest rooms, 400,000 square feet of exhibition and meeting space, and an atrium setting offering panoramic views of the full Rocky Mountain vista, from Longs Peak down to Pikes Peak.
